@darrenhester @maique I'm digging it! 😍 Got few other variations of it too, so can switch around every now and then. 😁

@manton This is really nice, thanks Manton! 😊 Also makes it possible now to use the translated version of the categories url, if I end up making a separate micro.blog in Finnish. Bit on the fence about that still though, as I worry it might be too much of a hassle to juggle between two blogs (keeping one up to date is hard enough tbh) πŸ˜„ But the more flexibility, the better πŸ‘

@tchambers Didn't know Ghost had such thing. Can you share where to find it? 😊

@Mtt Happy new year Matt! Hey, I've been meaning to ask: Where did you get that nice cartoon like avatar you're using? I've seen many micro.blog users having similar style cartoon like icons and been wondering, is there a service that generates those? They look neat! πŸ˜„

@manton Ah, makes sense! Not a big deal, was just curious as to why that happens πŸ˜„ Thanks!

  • @manton, When I go to my profile here on micro.blog, I see that I'm "following 462 users". However, when I go to account/mastodon and export follows, the list contains 441 people. Are these numbers supposed to match and if not, why?

To be clear, I just unfollowed bunch of people from Mastodon (who I was following via micro.blog) and then checked those numbers. Is there a delay in those numbers after unfollowing, could that be the cause for the numbers mismatch? :)

@Mtt Did the same some time ago. I usually go through my social network account usages yearly and drop those that I don't use anymore (or use very little). Some are harder to drop, even if their engagement are poor. Some for historical (mostly nostalgic reasons), some for the fact that I have enough following on those to make them feel "important".

I've been hoping that ActivityPub would solve this multiple account problem, but in all honesty, I just don't see that happening yet. Most of the ActivityPub supporting socials are quite niche still. Curious to see if Threads boosts the adoption more or not on the big picture (if/once they start supporting it, as they've promised in their roadmap talks).

@pimoore Thanks Pete! No need to be jealous, but those views sure were great πŸ˜„πŸ™Œ Would love to go back! Maybe next summer.

The publishing workflow is something that is always evolving, at least for me. Mostly trial and error to see what works and feels right 😊

@tkoola @maique Good ideas, both. Don't have Android device, unfortunately, so that won't work. Second AppStore account might be a way to try. Need to look into that. Thanks for the tips! 😊

@ekcragg That's a fun way putting it! Now I wonder whether I should go with Empire strikes back, Shining or The Blues Brothers myself.. 🀭

@mijustin Let's not kid about serious matters! πŸ˜‚ Kind of reminds me of a local newspaper article here in Finland (a small local newspaper from a town called SodankylΓ€) when there was a headline during winter: "Man fell over on the yeard of his working place." The article continued.. "It's suspected that it was slippery. No further details are available at this time." But that beer news do seem even more critical, I must say! :D

@Mtt Thank you so much for the kind words! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™ It turned out rather nice, I dig it. Maybe this will even inspire writing for the blog, something that I've failed to do properly in years! πŸ˜„

@numericcitizen I have the background image defined in CSS for the body element. See here. The image itself I have stored in my theme theme files, but the URL could also point to any other place, some Unsplash image for example 😊

@Mtt That would be sweet, thank you! Yeah, the tweaking never stops I bet.. but at least stabilizes at some point, heh! πŸ˜„ Will write a proper post about the "basic setup", once I have all the main bits and pieces ready for action. Can ping back then! 😊

@Mtt Thank you Matt! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™ And thanks for making Tiny! Immediately fell in love with it once I tried it. Just wanted to tinker around and change places of the "furniture" here and there. Still not quite finished, but getting there! πŸ˜„

@juha Now it appeared, so some 30-45 minute delay there it seems. But still picking up the post content from sidebar.. oh well, will investigate later what's going on. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@juha Substack must have some strange caching too in their reader, as all my other RSS readers saw the previous post immediately, Substack still haven't picked it up. Let's see if it ever will.. strange!
